Dear Friends,

This is an unprecedented season for each of us: cancellations, deferred activities, and altered interactions are the order of the day.  But we are not discouraged, nor should you be!  The American Festival Chorus & Orchestra is excited about our future and anxious to remain vibrant and in touch with you.

One of the most exciting developments from this COVID-19 slowdown is the production of two virtual concerts which will excite patrons and keep our listeners warm through the winter months.

Thank you so much for your ongoing support.  We extend our love and appreciation to you and your family, and pray that we will emerge from these crazy times stronger than ever, and more committed to providing superb performances to our supporters.

Herm Olsen, AFCO Board President
Craig Jessop, AFCO Music Director

This intensely moving concert features a pairing of 20th century masterworks.  Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem, characterized by music both emotional and comforting, is one of the most-beloved choral compositions of the 20th century.  Special Guest Organist Bradley Hunter Welch will bring the Campbell-Holtkamp Organ to life in Joseph Jongen’s exquisite Symphonie Concertante for Organ.

This lively evening of choral music will showcase the many outstanding young singers in our region, as the American Festival Chorus is joined by choirs from Cache Valley’s high schools.  Your spirits will lift as you listen to hundreds of melodious voices joined in song.  Please join us in supporting our next generation of musical talent!

After its stunning debut in 2018, Ethan Wickman and Glen Nelson’s oratorio “To a Village Called Emmaus” returns to Logan for this exclusive concert.  Commissioned by AFCO, the work tells the compelling story of events in the week after Christ’s resurrection. The text draws from the biblical book of John, using multiple translations and original poetry to embrace many faith traditions. The audience joins with the unwitting disciples as they discover the origins and identity of their divine fellow traveler.
